Naval Combat Mastery

Prepare for battle. Whether you're fighting sea monsters or other players, you need the right strategy to survive.

Cannon Mechanics & Positioning

Naval combat is not just point-and-click. It relies on positioning. Your ship has firing arcs based on where your cannons are mounted.

Broadside (The DPS King)

Turning your ship 90 degrees to the enemy allows you to fire all side cannons at once. This deals max damage but exposes your largest hitbox.

The "T-Bone" Maneuver

Sailing directly perpendicular across an enemy's bow allows you to fire a broadside while they can only fire front chase guns.

PvE Strategy: The "Kite"

Most NPC ships (Pirates, Merchant Guards) will try to ram you or board you.

  1. Engage: Fire a long-range shot to aggro the ship.
  2. Turn Away: Sail with the wind to gain speed.
  3. Fire Chasers: Use your rear-facing cannons to chip away at them while maintaining distance.
  4. Finish: Once their sails are damaged (speed reduced), turn around and finish them with a broadside.

PvP & Boarding

When a ship reaches 0 Hull HP, it sinks. When it reaches 0 Sail HP, it is dead in the water.Boarding is the act of grappling a disabled ship to kill the crew.

Wilderness Survival Tips

  • Ladder Defense: If boarded, freeze the enemy on the ladder using Ice Barrage. They cannot move.
  • Anti-Fire: Always drink Extended Super Antifire. Dragonfire Cannons are common in PvP.
  • Escape: If you are losing, sail into "Rough Waters" (Dark blue on map). Smaller ships will take environmental damage, potentially deterring pursuers.
